Bird Park

I have to say I was pretty reluctant to post this pic. What kind of mom holds a baby and a boa constrictor at the same time. On the other hand how many people can say they have kissed a Boa. Note to self never do this again. Just looking at this makes me nervous.

C was a little nervous, and rightfully so, to hold this Boa. I was so glad he did because he looks back on this experience as one of his favorites .

J is my BRAVE little soul. I don't think I would have done this had she not gone first.

In one quick snip this bird had R button in his beak.

I think this bird was a dog in its first life. J was scratching his head and he would shake his leg just like a dog.

Just previously we had been petting a few birds. They would just sit there patiently while we took our time. M walks up to this bird to touch it and the bird didn't like it so much. He snipped at M a few times. Needless to say M was a little timid after this. He did choose to hold one of the birds at the end. What a cute little guy

Butterfly's

The kids had a blast catching these butterfly's. For some reason they loved J. We called her the butterfly charmer.

Kowaties

All I could think of was Princess Bride and the ROUS..Rodents of Unusual size. These animals were everywhere scavenging for food. They were fun at first until one ripped a hole in my bag with his nasty dirty claws.

Beware of snakes
Devil's Throat

Iguacu Falls

I have been putting off blogging about this vacation for a few reasons. The first being we had such great time I don't think I can ever do it justice and second I have oodles of great pics and I don't know where to start. Here we go! We started off the day crossing the Argentina border and driving into the city of Iguacu. We went into a visitors center and AAHHH there they were. I have missed them so much and we just happened upon them. There they were OREO'S. I haven't seen or tasted of there delicious goodness in such a long time. It was just the beginning of a really great day. Nothing could go wrong! O.k really a bit dramatic because I really never ate oreo's at home. It was just the fact that I could buy them and we did. Yummy Yummy.

We got on the train and partook of our oreo's and we were off to see one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Devil's throat. It was mind blowing the power and beauty of the falls. It was truly magnificent.

We saw some really cool things on our walk to Devil's throat. There were butterflies everywhere, tropical birds, turtles and huge spiders. Our favorite was the beware of snakes signs. We make it to Devil's throat, here we are in this place we may never see again. M is crying because there is a mist in his face. Really M a mist but look around you. Unbelievable!

I did WHAT!

While living here the past almost three months I have done some pretty funny things. I guess if nothing else I did get a good laugh.

number one....I almost left the grocery store without paying my whole bill
number two...I drove down a one way street the wrong way
number three...I tried to get the keys from the guards and asked for them in German. He didn't understand
number four...I ask for the prices on things but if they cost over $R10 I have no idea what they are saying.
number five...I have given people the o.k. hand sign. Let's just say it doesn't mean o.k. here!
number six...I went into a mall where you have to pay for parking and I had no money to get out.
numberseven...Left Mikey in an elevator by himself

Yet I continue to survive....

10 things I liked about today:
1.M took a 3 hour nap and I was able to get a lot done..laundry..portugese homework..kitchen cleaned up
2.I took all the kids to the store and they were more of a help than a hinder.
3.I had my portugese lesson
4.Great weather
5. I heard of a new park close by I need to go and check out.
6. Watched part of Island Princess with M. I loved just being with him and he liked mom time.
7. Jos and I made cheesecake to take to her class tomorrow.
8. I talked to R on skype. I can't wait to have him back home
9 The kids were great to help clean up
10 We read the story of Samson and Delilah. The kids have just been eating up the Old Testament stories.

Overall a great day!

Easter 2010

My sweet Babe

I love this little guy. It is amazing how much they grow in the first year. He went from army crawling to pulling himself up within 3 weeks. He is so sweet and loves his brothers and sister.

We love the Hutchings!

Our fun friends invited us over for a fun day of BBQ, swimming, playing, and chatting. We had a great relaxing afternoon.

33 years

It was Sunday and my Birthday was the next day. The kids wanted to give me a birthday present. While I was taking my sunday afternoon nap they quietly made me these birthday surprises. These gifts melted my heart and made my day. Until I found out the coupons expired that night. They changed there minds and extended the expiration date. They gave me a few more coupons for a back and foot rub. I turned them in before I could get a picture of it.
So Sweet!

Exhausted

This picture tells it all. This was M sleeping on the way home from the beach. Look closely and he is actually drooling. I think he must have had a fun day!
