Last Day of School

They all had to bring their favorite snack for a little picnic. All C wanted to bring was his favorite Chicken noodle soup.

C's teacher Mrs. Patricia

J's teacher Ms. Koizumi

J and C wanted to give their teachers a little thank you gift.

This past year has been wonderful. It is amazing to see where we started and where we are at now. This year has gone so fast yet it seems like forever ago since the kids were going to school at Washington Elem. They have learned so much and have really worked hard. We have been impressed with how much they have learned in the past 5 months. C has turned into a great little reader and has learned a lot about the world and the different continents. He also has enjoyed art class and PE. J has loved learning how to write in cursive, start multiplication and learn fractions (which is a work in progress). She is also taking Portuguese class which she loves. It has been a big adjustment for them to move here and start a new school. They have made the best of it!

Festa Junina

This is a picture of J getting ready to dance the Quadrilla. Her partner is the principle of the lower school. What I should have taken a picture of was the little girl chasing C around trying to kiss him. Apparently this little girl loves C ....because he is the only boy in the class who understands girls. Hilarious!

M was the only one brave enough to ride the bull. It was hilarious he got on and was all smiles within minutes he was scared and ready to get off. I was glad he tried it.

Science Museum

The kiddos sitting on a bed on nails.

Talk about spilling your guts

When I think of Science museum my first thought is B-O-R-I-N-G. That is probably the reason my kids are convinced that my husband is smarter than I. Any questions about cloud formation... how thunder and lightning happen.. the difference between a hurricane and tornado I will always refer them to there father for the correct answer. I am not sure where I was for most of my high school career. Anyway I had a really great time and I actually wanted to find out more about how the Good Earth Works. We spent a good afternoon there and could have stayed longer. The kids soaked it all in and can't wait to go back.

Botanical Gardens

This weekends was one to be remembered. R had a 4 day weekend. It was Festa Junina. One of the reasons that I like Brazil is that they have a holiday/no work day each month. Yes they have one holiday each month where they don't have to work. It is crazy. The kids had thursday off of school and we went to the Botanical Gardens it was beautiful. It reminded me a lot of Thanksgiving point. Only Brazilian style. You don't see wild monkeys at Thanksgiving point. It was very cool.

Ice Mello

After a fun day at the zoo. Time for some Ice Mello.

Sao Paulo Zoo

My little MOnkeYs

Would you just stop growing!

Chores

Every night we have the kids help clean up the house before bedtime. Mikey went in to get his new broom and got a little distracted. He came out wearing these flippers and started sweeping. Didn't say a word just started sweeping. Love this kid!

Chicken Hearts

We found this great little cafe called Mimi's. Most of the food on the menu is served on a kabob. including the chocolate covered pineapple and strawberries. So yummy by the way. Every time we go C orders the same thing. Chicken hearts, just saying it makes me cringe. He loves them. I thought he was eating them just because he is a boy and it is cool to eat chicken hearts. But now I think he really truly enjoys them. C I hope you enjoy them there is plenty to go around. Eat up little boy Eat up!

2nd Grade Assembly

J you did great reciting the poem you memorized. It was fun to hear Korean, Spanish, English and Português at this assembly. It has been fun for the kids to be exposed to so many diff cultures and languages.

Mother's Day

For Mother's day C's teacher invited all the moms to class. We had snack and C showed me the work that he has been working on. I can't believe how much he has learned since
moving here. C and his friends counted to 1000 using these blocks. Thank you Maria Montessori.
